Pub quiz in Edinburgh: where to play
Edinburgh has far more pub quizzes than it gets credit for. A big chunk of them are run by Goose's Quizzes, who have hosted free-to-enter quizzes across the city since 2011 and publish a weekly map of every venue. We started from that map, then checked each venue against a second source (the pub's own site, a local listing or the PubQuizzy directory) and dropped the ones we couldn't confirm anywhere else.
Goose's quizzes all work the same way: free entry, answers submitted through a Google Form on your phone, and prizes that vary by venue but usually mean vouchers or a bar tab. You can turn up late and join in from the next round. Quiz nights change, so check the venue or the map before you set out. The list below runs Monday to Sunday.

A handful of venues on the Goose's map (including the Hanging Bat, George IV, the Bonnington, O'Connor's, the Spylaw and Slàinte Mhath) are left out because we couldn't find a second source confirming the quiz. They may well be running, so check the map if one of those is your local. If none of these fit your evening, use our quiz creator and run your own night instead.
